FIDO
Fiesta
Island Dog Owners
FIDO is a project
of a California 501(c)3 non-profit corporation
and contributions are tax deductible according to law
Our
mission is to preserve the Fiesta Island Leash-free Recreational
Area. We are a community based organization with
over 3600 members which is rapidly growing. We are a diverse
group of citizens who share a common passion and vision for
Fiesta Island. We are the
largest user group of Fiesta Island and unlike other user
groups, we use the island 365 days a year, rain or shine.
FIDO has
a board of 11
members who are working hard with the city to find a reasonable
solution that
meets the needs of
'all'
Fiesta Island Users.
Thank You FIDO
Members!!!!
-- Beach Cleanup Was A Great Success --
We had ~132 volunteers participate in
cleaning up our Fenced Off-leash Exercise Area. You
picked up ~528 pounds of debris and had good coverage from
KUSI on Sunday's Evening News. What you have done is
very important and helps FIDO in every meeting we have with
City Officials.
A
special thanks to all of you who made this a success:

Matrix of
Current and Potential sites for New On-beach Boat Storage
in Mission Bay Park, San Diego, CA
During the Fiesta Island General
Development Plan Process, conflicts were created between
the needs for paddling storage uses and off-leash dog
shoreline access uses.
At the 9-11-2007 meeting of the
Mission Bay Park Committee, Mr. Les Hopper, representing
the paddling interests, testified that they had created
a matrix of all possible locations and that the location
on the Southern Shore of FI ranked the highest. After
attempts to locate the matrix failed, FIDO volunteers
have created their own matrix after surveying all the
sites.
At FIDO's request - and to facilitate
the resolution of the conflicts - the City Council voted
unanimously to allocate an additional $4,000 for the
consultant to review this matrix for accuracy.
WE WELCOME YOUR FEEDBACK,
CORRECTIONS, AND SUGGESTIONS
Please follow this
link
to review the information to date, and this

constructive comments please e-mail them to
FIDO.
